Epic
Overview
- Overview
-
Epic is a digital children’s book and video library. Students browse assigned or self-selected ebooks, audiobooks, read-to-me books, comics, and educational videos while educators create collections and review reading activity. Collection access and learner identity connect reading choices with recorded activity. Educators use that history alongside discussion and other literacy evidence when supporting independent reading.

Grades / learners:
preschool and elementary readers
Primary users:
students, teachers, librarians, and families
Learning focus:
book access, independent reading, read-alouds, informational text, and reading motivation — a digital children’s book and video library
How it supports learning
- Students browse assigned or self-selected ebooks, audiobooks, read-to-me books, comics, and educational videos while educators create collections and review reading activity.
- Teachers should connect use to explicit learning goals and inspect student work rather than rely on completion or engagement alone.
Implementation and instructional decisions
- Confirm school-day versus home access, content curation, reading supports, privacy, and how usage complements library collections and instruction.
- Districts should confirm accessibility, language support, student-data practices, assignment workflow, reporting, and the continuing role of teacher judgment.
