Registered User Submission and Posting Policy
SchoolDataLeadership.org welcomes submissions of files—such as PDF files, Word documents, and spreadsheets—along with blog posts, questions and answers, and articles that promote the effective use and management of technology and related support systems in California K–12 schools. The site is a “mash-up” or convergence of ideas related to assessment, district enterprise systems, technology support, software integration, data analysis, digital dashboards, and anything else that strikes our fancy.
Our contributors are mainly California K–12 school administrators, teachers, and staff, with a few parents thrown in for good measure—many of us are both parents and educators. Most of us are already active members of CITE, CUE, CTA, ACSA, CABE, and other organizations, but are interested in addressing cross-team or cross-departmental concerns that might not yet have an active home in those spaces.
We believe our site benefits from authentic opinions from educators, experts, novices, technology enthusiasts, and more. We welcome contributions that serve our audience, but do not accept submissions whose sole purpose is link sharing or advertising. We are interested in your voice, not someone else’s. To remain an “honest broker,” we do not accept targeted advertisements from vendors.
Submitting and Publishing Content
We accept articles on a case-by-case basis unless another agreement has been established between SchoolDataLeadership.org and the contributor.
- Write an original guest post in 1,000 words or fewer.
- Provide a descriptive and accurate title that reflects the post’s content.
- Include the contributor’s contact information: first and last name, title, and relevant professional social-media handle.
- Disclose any conflicts of interest—for example, employment by a particular vendor or organization.
- Optional: Submit quality photos related to the article in JPG, PNG, or SVG format at 300 by 300 pixels.
- Authors may submit original or personal photos, graphics, and diagrams. Work created by other people or companies must carry an acceptable Creative Commons license, such as Attribution (CC BY), Attribution-NoDerivs (CC BY-ND), or Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA).
Following submission, review, and approval, SchoolDataLeadership.org will publish the contribution on SchoolDataLeadership.org .
Terms and Disclosure
SchoolDataLeadership.org does not provide or guarantee compensation for content submissions. Submitted content remains the property of the original contributor. Uploading content indicates either that you created the content or that it is in the public domain and SchoolDataLeadership.org has the right to access, modify, update, post, and distribute it.
SchoolDataLeadership.org may edit content, spelling, and grammar, and may decline to publish submitted work without disclosing a reason. Reasons for rejecting an article may include:
- Inaccurate information or facts
- Excessive grammatical or spelling errors
- Irrelevance to the site’s existing content, theme, or focus
- Product promotion, marketing language, or sales pitches
SchoolDataLeadership.org may also remove published work from SchoolDataLeadership.org without prior warning or explanation. Original content remains the contributor’s intellectual property.
