Writable is HMH’s digital writing instruction, practice, and assessment platform. It is intended primarily for upper-elementary through high-school writers, with students, ELA and content-area teachers, coaches, and curriculum leaders using it to support writing practice, feedback, revision, peer review, and rubric-based assessment.

Teachers assign prompts and readings, scaffold drafting, organize peer and teacher feedback, and assess writing with rubrics. Districts should evaluate how the product fits adopted curriculum, student needs, instructional time, and the work educators must do around it.

Writing by Design / Grading by Design is a K–8 writing curriculum and related assessment/grading approach. It is designed primarily for elementary and middle-grade writers, with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and students using it to support writing process, genres, conventions, revision, feedback, and common expectations.

Teachers use modeled lessons, shared language, rubrics, student practice, conferencing, and feedback to develop writing across genres. The product should be evaluated for the specific learners, instructional setting, and intensity of support a district intends—not simply as another source of digital activities.

XtraMath is a nonprofit web-based basic-math-fact practice program. It is intended primarily for elementary learners building basic-fact fluency, with students, elementary teachers, interventionists, and families using it to support addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, accuracy, and automaticity.

Students complete short timed or untimed practice sessions while teachers and families monitor progress across fact sets. Districts should evaluate how the product fits adopted curriculum, student needs, instructional time, and the work educators must do around it.

Zearn Math is a nonprofit mathematics curriculum and digital learning platform. It is intended primarily for elementary and middle-grade mathematics learners, with students, classroom teachers, interventionists, coaches, and curriculum leaders using it to support grade-level mathematics, conceptual understanding, fluency, digital lessons, and intervention support.

Teachers combine classroom lessons and student-paced digital activities with models, fluency, problem solving, and real-time support. Districts should evaluate how the product fits adopted curriculum, student needs, instructional time, and the work educators must do around it.
