How it supports learning
- Teachers assign prompts and readings, scaffold drafting, organize peer and teacher feedback, and assess writing with rubrics.
- Teachers should connect use to explicit learning goals and inspect student work rather than rely on completion, time-on-task, or engagement alone.
Implementation and instructional decisions
- Confirm HMH packaging and AI features; protect student authorship, privacy, accessible composition, substantive teacher feedback, and revision beyond automated scores.
- Districts should confirm accessibility, language support, student-data practices, assignment workflow, reporting, and the continuing role of teacher judgment.
