PSTS - Postsecondary Status
PSTS errors concern postsecondary outcomes reported for eligible students who exited special education. They may identify missing, invalid, or inconsistent education, employment, or training status information. Verify the student, reporting period, contact information, and applicable outcome codes before correcting and resubmitting the record.

Wrong field length
Field length must match CALPADS File Specifications (CFS)

Required Field Missing
A required field for the submitted Records Type is missing.
GERR0002
Value Not Found in Reference Set
The value provided for the field is not a valid value from the CALPADS Code Sets.
GERR0005
LEA does not have ownership of student enrollment to make update
Student must be enrolled in the Reporting LEA during the prior Academic Year specified in the record.
GERR0007
Code submitted outside the Effective Date Range
Code must be submitted with an Academic Year ID that overlaps, on at least one day, the CALPADS effective date range for the code.
GERR0010
Fall 2 File Types Cannot be Submitted for Preschools
If the file submitted has a Record Type of SASS, CRSE, SCSE, or PSTS-F2, then the School must not be a Preschool.

Invalid School of Attendance
If School of Attendance NPS is populated
Then School of Attendance must equal 0000001.

Missing NPS School
If School of Attendance = 0000001
Then School of Attendance NPS must be populated.
IVR0006
Invalid Academic Year
Academic Year ID must be a valid academic school year combination and no more than one year in the future.
SSID must be a valid CALPADS SSID in the ODS.
IVR0009
Invalid Characters in Field
Field must only contain Alphabetic letters, numbers, periods, hyphens apostrophes, forward slashes, spaces. Alphabetic characters with accents, tildes, or umlauts are allowed.
Valid characters are based on the UTF-8 character set standards.

Duplicate Record within File
Two or more records exist with the same operational key fields.

School must have a relationship with LEA if populated
If School of Attendance is populated then it must have an active reporting relationship with the Reporting LEA.

SELPA Code must be blank for CPA and CTE Education Program Participation Type
If Education Program Participation Type Code = 10 (CPA) or 20 (CTE), then Reporting SELPA must not be populated.

Missing SELPA Code
If Education Program Participation Type Code = 30 (SPED), then Reporting SELPA must be populated.

Invalid Local Special Education Student ID
If Education Program Participation Type Code = 10 (CPA) or 20 (CTE), then Local Special Education Student ID must not be populated.

Missing Local Special Education Student ID
If Education Program Participation Type Code = 30 (SPED), then Local Special Education Student ID is required.
PSTS0483
User not authorized to submit CPA and CTE data
If Education Program Participation Type Code = 10 (CPA) or 20 (CTE), then the user must be assigned the PSTS Edit role.

User not authorized to submit Students with Disabilities data
If Education Program Participation Type Code = 30 (SPED), then the user must be assigned the PSTS for SPED Students Edit role.

SELPA code must be a valid 4-digit SELPA code.

If Postsecondary Status Code is 200, 210, 220, 300, 310, 320, 330, 340, 350, 360, or 370, then Educational Institution Type is required.

Postsecondary Status Code is 910, 920, or 930, then Industry Field is required.

Industry Field cannot equal Multiple Industry Sectors or Work Experience Education
Multiple Industry Sectors (MIS) or Work Experience Education (WEE) codes are not valid for Industry Field.
