Product Details

Overview

Alexandria Library Automation is a school-focused library management system from COMPanion Corporation. It organizes catalog and copy records, patron accounts, circulation, holds, fines, inventory, reports, and public discovery while supporting centralized catalogs across multiple schools.

Setting up a Follett Destiny Inventory

Product Details

Overview

Follett Destiny Library Manager is a K–12 library management system for cataloging print and digital resources, circulating materials, managing patrons and holds, conducting inventory, and reporting on collection use and condition. Destiny Discover gives students and staff a searchable, age-appropriate entry point to library holdings and supported digital content.

District-level controls support shared cataloging, transfers, collection analysis, permissions, and reporting across schools. Follett also sells connected but distinct products for classroom libraries and non-library resources, so districts should document whether they use Library Manager alone or additional Destiny modules.

TIPWeb-IM Overview

Product Details

Overview

Frontline Instructional Materials Management, formerly Hayes TIPWeb-IM, tracks textbooks, curriculum kits, digital licenses, consumables, and other instructional materials from district purchasing and warehouse receipt through campus distribution, student or staff assignment, transfer, collection, and disposition.

Its strength is district inventory accountability rather than library catalog discovery. Course and enrollment relationships, barcode workflows, campus requests, audits, loss or damage charges, and reports help districts allocate materials accurately and avoid unnecessary purchases. It belongs in Library/Textbook but also legitimately overlaps Inventory Management.

Overview

Insignia Library System is an integrated library platform for school, public, academic, and special libraries. Its Enterprise configuration supports centralized administration across multiple branches while managing cataloging, circulation, patrons, acquisitions, serials, discovery, inventory, and reporting.

For school districts, Insignia can connect library operations with district resource delivery and other licensed modules. Districts should document the edition, hosting arrangement, student-data interfaces, and whether Insignia Resource Manager is also used for textbooks or instructional materials.

Koha, the world's best free and open-source integrated library system.

Product Details

Overview

Koha is a free and open-source integrated library system for cataloging, circulation, patrons, acquisitions, serials, authorities, reporting, notices, and public discovery. It supports single libraries, multi-branch systems, and consortia through browser-based staff and patron interfaces.

The software has no license fee or single required vendor, but it is not operationally free: districts must provide hosting, security, upgrades, backups, integrations, migration, configuration, and support themselves or contract with a Koha service provider. The quality and cost of the implementation depend heavily on that operating model.

Product Details

Overview

Libib is a cloud cataloging and circulation platform for books, media, classroom collections, and small-to-midsize libraries. Schools can scan ISBN or UPC codes, organize collections, publish a searchable catalog, manage patrons, check items in and out, place holds, generate barcodes, and run reports.

Libib Basic is primarily personal cataloging, while Pro adds library circulation and patron tools and Ultimate adds centralized multi-account administration and school-oriented SSO. District buyers should evaluate the appropriate edition, collection and manager limits, SIS or roster processes, records standards, and district-wide reporting before treating it as a replacement for a traditional enterprise ILS.

Library World: Cole Library Catalog Tutorial

Product Details

Overview

LibraryWorld is a hosted library automation service for school, academic, public, and special libraries. It provides cataloging, circulation, patron management, inventory, serials tracking, reports, and an online public access catalog without requiring the library to maintain local server software.

The platform is a practical full-library system for smaller or less complex environments. Districts should compare its multi-site administration, identity and SIS integration, accessibility, data-security documentation, reporting depth, and support model with products built specifically for large K–12 districts.

Product Details

Overview

Millennium is an integrated library system from Innovative Interfaces for cataloging, circulation, acquisitions, serials, patron management, public catalog access, and reporting. It was designed for complex library operations and remains represented in Innovative documentation and customer environments.

Innovative now positions Sierra as its current flagship ILS, and Millennium appears to be a legacy platform rather than the company’s forward-looking product. The catalog should not declare it retired without district confirmation, but each California relationship should be reviewed to determine whether the library still uses Millennium, has migrated to Sierra, or uses a different Innovative product.
