Barracuda Email Protection is a layered email-security and resilience service for Microsoft 365 and other supported mail environments. It blocks spam, phishing, impersonation, malicious links and attachments, and account-takeover activity while adding continuity, archiving, backup, encryption, and incident-response capabilities according to the licensed package.

Districts use it to reduce successful phishing, protect executive and finance workflows, recover mail and cloud data, investigate suspicious messages, and maintain access during outages. Because Barracuda sells multiple editions and components, the listing should distinguish the purchased services rather than assuming the entire suite is deployed.

Identity security software from Cisco that supports multifactor authentication and secure access. Cisco Duo helps administrators verify sign-ins, review device trust, and apply access policies to supported applications and services.

Not to be confused with: Cisco Umbrella provides internet security; Duo verifies identity and access.

Cloud-delivered security from Cisco that uses DNS and related controls to help prevent access to malicious destinations. Cisco Umbrella gives IT teams centralized policies and security activity visibility. Additional web security functions depend on the licensed package.

Not to be confused with: Cisco Secure Endpoint protects endpoints through a separate product; Umbrella focuses on cloud-delivered internet security.

ContentKeeper provides web filtering for K–12 networks and managed devices. Its hybrid design combines on-network filtering with cloud protection for supported off-campus devices, giving IT staff a common framework for access policies and reporting.

ContentKeeper Technologies is part of Ativion, the group that also includes Impero’s education offerings. Current product information describes supported-device coverage, encrypted-traffic visibility, granular video controls and safeguarding alerts; availability depends on configuration and licensing.

Not to be confused with StudentKeeper, Ativion’s related classroom-management and safeguarding offering. A ContentKeeper filtering connection does not establish that a district has licensed StudentKeeper or every available module.

Deledao is a K–12 web-filtering, classroom-management, and student-wellness platform built around real-time analysis of page text, images, video, and activity. ActiveScan filters inappropriate or distracting content, ActiveInstruct gives teachers classroom controls, and ActivePulse identifies concerning language or behavior for authorized support teams.

Unlike filters that rely primarily on preclassified domains, Deledao evaluates page-level context and media as students use it. Districts can combine automated filtering with teacher unblock workflows, parent visibility, reporting, and human review of high-risk wellness alerts; they should document which modules and monitoring practices are enabled.

Security analytics and log management software from Fortinet. FortiAnalyzer centralizes supported security telemetry to help IT teams investigate events, build reports, and coordinate monitoring across the Fortinet environment.

Fortinet endpoint software for secure remote access and endpoint security integration. FortiClient can provide VPN connectivity, device posture information, and zero trust network access functions. Capabilities differ between free VPN and managed licensed editions.

Not to be confused with: FortiClient editions differ; FortiEDR is a separate endpoint detection and response product.

Endpoint detection and response software from Fortinet. FortiEDR monitors endpoint activity, identifies suspicious behavior, and supports containment, investigation, and response workflows. Its deployment and integrations depend on the licensed environment.

Not to be confused with: FortiClient provides endpoint connectivity and access functions; FortiEDR focuses on threat detection and response.

Fortinet FortiGate is a next-generation firewall platform used to protect district internet connections, data centers, campuses, and distributed school networks. It combines firewalling, VPN, intrusion prevention, malware inspection, application control, web and DNS filtering, segmentation, and software-defined wide-area networking in physical, virtual, and cloud form factors.

FortiGate can participate in the broader Fortinet Security Fabric with wireless, switching, endpoint, identity, email, logging, and centralized management products. Districts should distinguish the FortiGate firewall itself from separately licensed Fortinet services and appliances when describing their implementation.

Infoblox provides DNS, DHCP, and IP address management together with DNS-layer security and network visibility. Districts use it to operate core network addressing services, maintain authoritative records of devices and subnets, detect malicious or anomalous DNS activity, and block access to known harmful infrastructure.

Because DNS is used by nearly every district device and service, Infoblox can provide broad visibility into compromised endpoints, phishing, malware callbacks, shadow IT, and configuration problems. It complements rather than replaces endpoint protection, firewalls, identity controls, and a security operations platform.
