Cisco Umbrella

Overview

Overview

Cisco Umbrella provides cloud-delivered security from Cisco that uses DNS and related controls to help prevent access to malicious destinations. Cisco Umbrella gives IT teams centralized policies and security activity visibility. District IT teams use it to protect internet access across school sites.

DNS requests connect users and devices with the destinations they attempt to reach. Network and security teams interpret those records in the context of policy, legitimate services, and observed threats. Security events need their account, device, and network context. IT staff coordinate policy changes with the services that depend on continued authorized connectivity.
