Verkada is a cloud-managed physical-security platform combining video cameras, access control, alarms, intercoms, visitor management, environmental sensors, and emergency-response tools in one administrative environment. Schools can monitor campuses, investigate incidents, manage doors and credentials, screen visitors, receive analytic alerts, and share selected information with first responders.
People, doors, cameras, and campus locations connect several security workflows. Safety, facilities, and technology teams coordinate permissions and response responsibilities across the functions actually deployed. A visitor transaction, physical-security event, and sensitive student case have different purposes and audiences. A shared platform still needs to preserve those distinctions in day-to-day administration.
Coordination matters before an incident as well as during it. Teams maintain locations, responder contacts, staff roles, access, and practice arrangements so information can support the intended response. Sensitive student cases, visitor transactions, and physical-security events need their own context even when related tools are available within a shared product family.

- Shares live feeds or links with authorized law-enforcement partners.
Environmental and operational monitoring
- Offers air-quality and vape-detection sensors, license-plate recognition, and other campus analytics.
- Centralizes device health, permissions, alerts, and multi-site administration in Verkada Command.
