Frontline Absence & Time is a K–12 employee absence, substitute placement, timekeeping, and attendance platform. Employees report absences, district rules identify eligible substitutes, and available jobs are distributed through web, mobile, and automated notifications so schools can cover classrooms without maintaining separate call lists and spreadsheets.

An absence connects an employee assignment, a school, a date, and the need for qualified coverage. HR, payroll, substitutes, and school offices use different parts of that record.

  • Lets employees create absences and attach instructions while administrators apply approval, qualification, preference, exclusion, and assignment rules.
  • Notifies eligible substitutes and allows them to review and accept available jobs through supported channels.

Time and payroll preparation

  • Captures worked time and applies district pay, leave, calendar, and labor rules when the related modules are licensed.
  • Reduces re-entry between absence records, substitute assignments, timesheets, and payroll exports.

  • Provides dashboards and reports for fill rates, absence trends, staffing gaps, substitute activity, and site-level patterns.
