CALPADS compares CRSE and SASS data by SEID and school. The CRSE teacher must be represented by a valid instructional teaching assignment in SASS at the school associated with the course section. When a staff member works at multiple schools, review each school separately.
The CRSE and SASS records may each have passed transactional validation. CRSE0683F2 is produced when the Fall 2 certification snapshot cannot establish the required relationship between the course-section teacher and a valid instructional staff assignment.

Preserve the certification evidence
Capture the Fall 2 revision, school, reporting year, SEID, course-section identifiers, and the affected certification-detail row before changing source data.

Verify the teacher of record
Use the master schedule and local assignment documentation to confirm that the CRSE SEID identifies the person who should be reported for the course section.

Review the complete SASS relationship
In Report 4.4 and the HR source, match the same SEID, reporting year, and School of Assignment. For multi-site staff, verify an appropriate assignment at every school where the person is reported on CRSE.

Apply the current classification rules
Confirm that instructional work is represented by Educational Service Job Classification 13. If the person also performs non-instructional teacher duties, report the additional supported classification separately rather than replacing the instructional assignment.

Correct the authoritative source
If the teacher and course section are correct, add or correct the supported instructional SASS assignment and school relationship. If the SASS data are correct, correct the CRSE SEID, school, or unsupported course-section record. Repair the SIS, HR, or scheduling export mapping that created the mismatch.

Repost, regenerate, and reconcile
Post the corrected files in the required sequence, allow processing to complete, regenerate the Fall 2 revision, and confirm that CRSE0683F2 clears. Recheck Report 4.4 and the applicable course and staff certification reports to ensure the correction did not distort counts.
