High-value checks

1 โ€” PopulationMatch SEID and academic year
2 โ€” Relationship Match School of Assignment to School of Course Delivery
3 โ€” VerificationConfirm job classification 12, 26 or 27 as appropriate

Recommended correction path

  1. 1

    Preserve the certification evidence

Capture the revision, school, reporting year, affected identifiers, and current detail-report rows.

  2. 2

    Verify the expected population

Determine whether the apparent gap is real, a legitimate zero, an exemption, or an incorrect source record.

  3. 3

    Trace the complete relationship

Compare the shared identifiers, effective dates, Census Day status, and related file families.

  4. 4

    Return to the authoritative source

Use hr/sass assignment and master schedule; protect staff and student information while reconciling.

  5. 5

    Apply the supported correction

Add or correct SASS, or correct the SEID/school/year on CRSE. Repair repeatable SIS, HR, SEDS, or scheduling mappings when applicable.

  6. 6

    Repost, regenerate, and compare

Wait for processing, regenerate the certification snapshot, and confirm both the error and downstream counts are corrected.

Retained official CALPADS guidance

Understanding the Error: The Course Section file submitted contains a SEID that does not have an associated Staff Assignment (SASS) record with a valid teacher job classification code. Suggested Resolution: Verify CALPADS ODS has a Staff Assignment (SASS) Record for the SEID with a Job Classification Code = 12 (Teacher), 26 (Charter School Non-certificated Teacher), or 27 (Itinerant or Pull-Out/Push-In Teacher) in the same School of Course Delivery for the same Academic Year ID as the submitted CRSE record. If there is no Staff Assignment Records for the SEID in the CALPADS ODS, submit a Staff Assignment record via online or batch submission.
