CALPADS compares the file’s Reporting LEA with the organization and roles assigned to the current user.
Two legitimate correction paths

| The file is for the intended LEA | Use an account authorized for that Reporting LEA or obtain appropriate access | Share another user’s credentials |
| The file contains the wrong LEA code | Correct the SIS/export configuration and regenerate | Hand-edit only the header/row while leaving the source wrong |
| The file belongs to another LEA | Stop and route it securely to the correct organization | Browse or distribute student language data unnecessarily |
Do not change the Reporting LEA until ownership is verified. SELA history follows the student, but the submitting organization must have valid enrollment ownership and authority for the event.
Recommended correction path

Stop and identify the file
Check filename, creation time, school codes, Reporting LEA, and intended district before reviewing additional student rows.

Confirm the signed-in account
Verify the CALPADS organization and roles currently active.

Confirm enrollment ownership
Ensure the student’s SENR history supports the Reporting LEA on the ELAS event date.

Correct access or source configuration
Use the authorized account, request appropriate access, or regenerate the file with the correct LEA mapping.

Resubmit securely
Confirm acceptance and remove misrouted working copies according to local privacy procedures.
