The second year must immediately follow the first: for example, 2026-2027.
Valid versus invalid examples

The Academic Year ID is not automatically the year of the ELAS Start Date. Use the current SELA reporting rules and the intended transaction context; do not alter the historical ELAS effective date to match the file year.

Check punctuation, four-digit years, leading/trailing spaces, and spreadsheet conversion.

Determine whether the row is a current event, historical correction, or mistakenly copied future record.

Verify ELAS history separately
Ensure the status code and effective date remain historically accurate.

Correct the SIS/export year
Use the valid consecutive-year identifier supported by the transaction.

Regenerate and audit
Review all rows from the same rollover or file-generation batch.
