SENR0015: Missing Enrollment Exit Date
A Student Exit Reason Code was submitted without an Enrollment Exit Date. Establish whether an exit actually occurred, then make fields 1.25 and 1.26 describe the same supported enrollment event.
Official validation
If Student Exit Reason Code is populated, Enrollment Exit Date must be populated.
- 1.25 — Enrollment Exit Date
- 1.26 — Student Exit Reason Code
- Severity: Fatal
- Type: Input Validation
Resolve the underlying enrollment event
A documented exit occurred
Determine the accurate Enrollment Exit Date and confirm that the Student Exit Reason Code describes that same event.
Action: Correct the authoritative SIS enrollment and transmit both supported values together.
No exit occurred
The student remains enrolled, a planned withdrawal was cancelled, or the reason code was defaulted or copied accidentally.
Action: Remove the unsupported exit reason and leave the enrollment open; do not create an exit date.
Trace the paired fields
- Confirm the student and enrollment segment: match the SSID, school, Enrollment Start Date, grade, and existing CALPADS history.
- Verify the event: review attendance, withdrawal, transfer, completion, no-show, and year-end evidence as applicable.
- Compare SIS and extract: determine whether fields 1.25 and 1.26 belong to the same enrollment segment and appear correctly in the raw SENR row.
- Check for a systemic cause: look for incomplete withdrawal workflows, default exit reasons, shifted columns, suppressed dates, or mappings that combine different enrollment segments.
- Review chronology: ensure the corrected exit fits the Enrollment Start Date, surrounding enrollments, attendance, and any event-specific CALPADS rule.
Recommended resolution
Preserve the rejected row
Capture the submission ID, processing date, SSID, operational key, school, and exact values transmitted in fields 1.25 and 1.26.
Confirm whether the enrollment ended
Use authoritative attendance and enrollment records to distinguish an actual exit from a planned, cancelled, defaulted, or accidental entry.
Establish the date and reason together
If an exit occurred, identify its supported date and select the current CALPADS reason code that accurately describes the same event.
Remove an unsupported exit
If no exit occurred, clear the reason through the local reversal process and keep the enrollment open.
Correct the owning system
Repair the SIS workflow, enrollment segment, import, mapping, date formatting, or extraction rule that produced the incomplete pair.
Regenerate and inspect
Confirm the raw SENR row contains either both supported exit fields or neither field for an open enrollment.
Submit and verify
Confirm SENR0015 clears and CALPADS shows the enrollment correctly open or closed with an accurate chronology.
Review the affected population
Search for other records with an exit reason but no date, especially those sharing the same operator, process, reason code, school, or extract.
Close only after verification
- The Exit Date and Exit Reason describe the same documented event.
- An active student remains in an open enrollment when no exit occurred.
- The SIS and generated SENR row reproduce the corrected field pair.
- The accepted CALPADS chronology aligns with attendance and surrounding enrollments.
- Shared workflow or extract defects have been checked across the affected population.
