GERR0007: Code submitted outside the effective date range

The SCTE row uses a code that exists in CALPADS but was not active for the reported academic year.

Official CALPADS rule

Fields validated: 11.01 Record Type Code; 11.02 Transaction Type Code; 11.06 Academic Year ID; 11.12 Student Gender Code; 11.13 CTE Pathway Code

The submitted code must be effective for the academic year and context reported on the SCTE record.

Recommended correction path

  1. 1

    Identify the field and code

Capture the exact submitted value, academic year, student, school, pathway, and error row.

  2. 2

    Check effective dates

Use the current CALPADS Code Sets to compare the code’s start and end dates with the SCTE Academic Year ID.

  3. 3

    Confirm the historical facts

Have the CTE/pathway owner validate the pathway and completion year; have the CALPADS coordinator confirm the reporting-year interpretation.

  4. 4

    Correct the appropriate layer

Fix the academic year if it is wrong, or update the SIS/state-code crosswalk when the local program maps to an expired code. Preserve accurate historical coding.

  5. 5

    Resubmit and scan for recurrence

Verify the accepted row, then search the full extract for the same retired code and review next-year mappings proactively.
