Blackboard - The New Learning Experience

Product Details

Overview

Blackboard Learn is a cloud learning management system from Anthology for building courses, delivering content, collecting work, administering assessments, grading, discussion, communication, and learner support. It is widely associated with higher education but can support other education and training environments.

The Ultra experience emphasizes consistent course navigation, accessible content, responsive design, analytics, and integration with external learning tools. California districts should evaluate its K–12 usability, SIS workflows, support model, and total administration requirements against platforms designed specifically around district operations.

Navigating Canvas LMS

Product Details

Overview

Canvas by Instructure is a full learning management system used by K–12 districts to build courses, organize modules, deliver multimedia instruction, collect assignments, administer quizzes, grade work, communicate, and track student participation and performance. It can serve as the central hub for classroom applications and digital curriculum.

Canvas supports district-wide templates and governance while allowing teachers to adapt instruction for individual courses. Its open architecture, LTI ecosystem, APIs, mobile applications, SIS connections, accessibility features, and K–5 experience make it a flexible but administratively substantial platform.

Classera Student Tutorial 2019

Product Details

Overview

Classera LMS is a cloud learning platform for schools, universities, government, and training organizations. Its education environment combines course content, assignments, quizzes, discussion, communication, gradebook, attendance, digital libraries, virtual meetings, portfolios, analytics, and administrative tools.

The Premium edition adds advanced assessment, adaptive learning, automation, and other capabilities within Classera’s broader Learning Super Platform. Because the company serves multiple international markets and institutional types, California districts should verify U.S. K–12 implementation, privacy, accessibility, support, SIS, identity, and data-export requirements.

Product Details

Overview

Embarc by Education Advanced is a PK–12 curriculum mapping and management system. District teams use it to align standards, learning targets, courses, units, lessons, resources, and assessments; identify gaps or duplication; share curriculum; and maintain a living record of what should be taught across schools and grade levels.

Student and public portals can distribute curriculum-aligned assignments and resources, but Embarc is primarily a curriculum-management product rather than a general LMS. This record duplicates the Embarc listing previously found in Integrated Systems and should be consolidated only after all district relationships are reconciled.

Getting Started with Google Classroom | EDTech Made Easy - GOOGLE CLASSROOM TUTORIAL

Product Details

Overview

Google Classroom is the course and assignment hub within Google Workspace for Education. Teachers organize classwork, distribute Google files and other resources, collect submissions, grade work, provide feedback, and communicate with students from one familiar workspace.

For districts already using Google Workspace, Classroom offers a comparatively lightweight way to standardize digital classroom routines without operating a full enterprise LMS. Paid editions add capabilities such as broader analytics, class-management controls, originality tools, add-ons, and supported SIS roster and grade workflows.

Hāpara Highlights Overview (Winter 2022)

Product Details

Overview

Hāpara is an instructional management and classroom visibility layer built around Google Workspace for Education. It helps teachers organize Google resources, distribute differentiated work, view student activity across browser tabs and Workspace files, guide web use, and give feedback from a consolidated teacher workspace.

It solves important classroom-management problems for Google-centered districts, but it is not a full general-purpose LMS with the same depth of course, assessment, and gradebook administration as Canvas, Schoology, or Moodle. It belongs more naturally in Classroom Management or Instructional Management, with a possible cross-list here.

The Learning Centric Approach

Product Details

Overview

itslearning is a K–12 learning management system that brings curriculum plans, course resources, assignments, assessment, grading, communication, and student progress into one district-managed environment. Teachers can plan from standards and learning objectives while students work through a consistent course experience.

The platform is intended to connect instructional planning with daily delivery and evidence of learning. Shared resources, course templates, parent access, analytics, mobile tools, and supported integrations help districts reduce fragmented classroom workflows and maintain instructional consistency.

Assigning Activities Through the Planner and Curriculum Tabs

Product Details

Overview

Kiddom is a K–12 digital curriculum and instructional platform that combines high-quality curriculum, planning, assignment delivery, assessment, grading, reporting, and collaboration. Districts use it to implement adopted instructional materials consistently while giving teachers tools to adapt lessons and respond to student evidence.

Kiddom can perform many LMS workflows, but its current center of gravity is curriculum implementation and learning intelligence rather than a neutral course shell. It appropriately overlaps Learning Management and Curriculum Management, with the latter likely the stronger primary category.

2022 Moodle LMS video

Product Details

Overview

Moodle LMS is an open-source learning management system for creating courses, delivering resources and activities, collecting assignments, running quizzes, grading work, discussion, communication, and tracking completion. Districts may self-host it, use a Moodle Certified Service Provider, or obtain it through another hosting arrangement.

Its extensible plugin ecosystem and control over hosting can make Moodle highly adaptable, but districts must plan for configuration, upgrades, security, backups, accessibility review, support, and integration ownership. The actual experience and operating burden depend heavily on the chosen deployment and local administration.

Introduction to PowerSchool Learning

Product Details

Overview
A combination of "harmony, simplicity, and community," Haiku (now P Learning after the PowerSchool acquisition) tries to simplify the task of running both classrooms and schools. Cloud-based Haiku allows educators to keep assignments, feedback, and grades online. It uses Google ed apps to essentially streamline what's been done already while also looking ahead to what's new. For example, the new trend of assessing students on standards is already integrated into the system. While the platform is typically purchased for entire schools, teachers can sign up for a free solo account that gives them five classes and 2GB of storage.

Product Details

Overview
School Loop is a K–12 learning and school-communication platform that provides grade information, assignments, calendars, news, LoopMail, and parent or student access. Its communication tools help teachers, students, and families stay informed about academic work and school activity.
School Loop remains operational under IgniteTech, but it is not primarily a mass-notification product. It fits better under Learning Management / Student-Parent Portal or Classroom Communication, with this category retaining it only if SDLA intends Family Notification to include academic portals and teacher messaging.
Schoology Wins PC Magazine's Editor's Choice

Product Details

Overview

PowerSchool Schoology Learning is a district-scale K–12 learning management system for organizing courses, instructional content, assignments, assessments, grades, discussions, and communication. It gives teachers and students a consistent digital classroom across in-person, blended, and remote instruction.

Administrative tools support course templates, standards and mastery workflows, analytics, app integrations, and centralized governance. Its connection to the broader PowerSchool ecosystem can reduce duplicate roster, grade, and student-data work when districts use compatible PowerSchool products.

Product Details

Overview

Seesaw is an elementary-focused learning experience platform that combines classroom activities, multimodal student work, portfolios, formative assessment, teacher feedback, and family communication. Students can demonstrate learning with photos, video, audio, drawing, text, links, and uploaded files rather than relying only on conventional documents or tests.

Teachers can assign lessons, differentiate activities, review progress, and share approved work with families, while district tools support curriculum libraries, standards, analytics, and administration. Seesaw covers meaningful LMS functions for younger learners but also fits Student Engagement, Digital Portfolios, and Family Communication.

Product Details

Overview

Synergy Learning Management System is Edupoint’s K–12 LMS designed to operate with the Synergy Student Information System. It gives teachers a place to organize instruction, distribute content and assignments, communicate, assess student work, and manage grades while using student, course, and enrollment data already maintained in Synergy SIS.

Its main district value is the shared Synergy environment: roster and grade workflows can require less separate synchronization than a standalone LMS. Districts should confirm current module capabilities, licensing, and compatibility with their existing Synergy version and third-party instructional tools.
