Instructure Elevate Data Sync is an education interoperability platform that moves roster, student, staff, course, and learning information between student information systems and other applications. It replaces separate vendor-by-vendor integrations with centrally managed connections that understand common education standards and proprietary SIS formats.
The service sits between authoritative school records and applications that consume them. District and vendor teams coordinate field mappings, student matching, permissions, and the handling of enrollment changes. A successful transfer can still carry a mismatched identity or an inappropriate field value. Source ownership and agreed receiving rules give the technical exchange its business meaning.
The work continues after the first successful exchange. A source correction, new school year, vendor update, or failed transfer can change what receiving applications know. Application owners and technical teams coordinate monitoring, exception review, and approved changes so that synchronized data continues to represent the intended students, staff, classes, and services.
