Schoolzilla is Renaissance's K–12 data warehouse and dashboard platform. It brings information from SIS, assessment, attendance, behavior, and other district systems into role-based views so leaders and educators can monitor performance, compare student groups, identify students needing support, and follow progress over time.
Data from different systems become comparable only when identities, dates, and measures align. Analysts and source-system owners coordinate corrections so dashboards reflect the same student and reporting period. The same label can describe different measures or populations in different systems. Source definitions and reporting dates preserve the meaning of an apparent trend or comparison.
A shared analytical record influences program review and leadership decisions even though corrections often belong in the source system. Data teams coordinate refresh schedules, access, definitions, and a path for resolving discrepancies. Readers need to understand which data is represented, how current it is, and what an aggregate or student-level view can legitimately explain.

SCHOOLZILLA, INC. develops a data management platform that turns achievement and operational data into interactive reports. The company has also developed a web based application, Assessment Explorer, which enables creation and sharing of student achievement reports. SCHOOLZILLA, INC. was founded in 2011 and is based in Oakland, California.
Unlike most education companies, Schoolzilla was forged within a school system. They spent five years as part of Aspire Public Schools – one of the nation’s top performing school systems serving low-income communities – closely collaborating with educators to “solve the data problem.” They iterated until the teachers and administrators told Schoolzilla that they got it right, and in the process, a best-in-class data warehousing, analytics and reporting solution for K-12 was built.
Word of their success spread, and Schoolzilla kept getting requests to share the best practices and technology they developed with other school systems. They heard the call, and in early 2013, Schoolzilla spun out of Aspire to become an independent, mission-driven organization. Since then, they’ve helped thousands of teachers, leaders and data analysts save time, gain critical insight and leverage all their data to drive action and change students’ lives.
