The California College Guidance Initiative manages CaliforniaColleges.edu, the State of California's official college and career planning platform. It gives public-school students in grades 6–12 no-cost tools to explore careers and colleges, build academic and postsecondary plans, and launch college and financial-aid applications with information from their school records.
The planning record links student aspirations with maintained academic information and application activity. Counselors and registrars coordinate accurate course histories and students’ next steps beyond high school. Counseling and data staff distinguish a planned milestone from verified completion. Reporting remains dependent on current academic information and the requirements applicable to that student.
