Why use it? Review the students or counts CALPADS treats as dropouts and identify schools or student groups that need investigation.

Find discrepancies: Move from the aggregate to the supporting student list, then compare enrollment, exit, completion, and subsequent-enrollment evidence in the SIS and counseling records. It is aggregate, but review small cells, access restrictions, and local disclosure requirements before sharing.

Alternative diploma pathway

In the diploma year, report exit reason E230 with school completion status 102 for a student who earns the prescribed alternative diploma. If an eligible student returns for special education services, enroll the student each year until age-out or an earlier exit. Flash 334 describes eligibility through age 21. CALPADS Update Flash 334
