GERR0005 - SCSE: LEA Does Not Have Ownership of Student Enrollment to Make the Update

The student must have a supporting enrollment at the School of Course Delivery during the submitted academic year and term before CALPADS can accept the student-course-section relationship.

Recommended correction path

    Preserve the rejected relationship

    Capture the submission ID, row number, SSID, School of Course Delivery, Academic Year ID, Academic Term Code, local course, and Course Section ID before changing anything.

    Confirm the student and the real attendance dates

    Ask registration or site staff to verify the student, school, enrollment dates, exit dates, and any concurrent or short-term enrollment using authorized local records.

    Inspect CALPADS Enrollment History

    Find the SSID and confirm that CALPADS contains a supporting SENR enrollment at the school during the submitted course term. Resolve missing, rejected, overlapping, or incorrectly dated SENR records first.

    Compare local and CALPADS identities

    Verify that the SIS uses the same SSID and school CDS code. A locally duplicated student, stale SSID, or incorrect school mapping can make a valid schedule appear unowned.

    Confirm the academic-year and term overlap

    Make sure Academic Year ID is the intended consecutive two-year span and that the Academic Term Code represents a period during which the student was enrolled.

    Clear the CRSE prerequisite

    Confirm that the matching course section is accepted under the same school, year, local course, Course Section ID, and term. Do not repair SCSE by pointing it to an unrelated section.

    Correct the authoritative source or sequence

    Repair the SENR record, SIS enrollment, school mapping, schedule dates, or extract order. Submit prerequisite changes before regenerating SCSE.

    Reprocess and reconcile the student

    Confirm SCSE acceptance, review the student's complete schedule, and check other students generated by the same enrollment or scheduling rule.

Why SCSE volume grows so quickly

A school may have only dozens or hundreds of course sections, but every student-to-section relationship becomes its own SCSE record. The reporting chain must remain intact at every scale.
