School must be a valid code in CDS and have an active CALPADS reporting relationship with the Reporting LEA

Recommended correction path

A real school code is not sufficient. CALPADS also validates whether this LEA is permitted to report that school for the relevant context.

Invalid code	CDS does not resolve to the intended school	Correct the source code.
Invalid relationship	School exists but belongs to another reporting LEA	Verify ownership or authorization.
Possible district-level row	Seven-digit county-district code is required by the rule	Do not substitute a 14-digit school CDS.

Preserve the rejected row
Capture submission ID, row, Reporting LEA, School, Academic Year, masked SEID, Job Classification, FTE, and assignment-code positions.

Confirm identity and organization
Match accepted SDEM history, authorized HR evidence, official organization codes, and the actual assignment before editing.

Test the exact rule
- Resolve both organization codes in official directories.
- Confirm school status and reporting relationship.
- Check charter and county-office arrangements carefully.
- Distinguish physical work site from reportable School of Assignment.

Find the first divergence
Trace HR, position control, SIS scheduling, code crosswalks, joins, spreadsheet handling, file generation, and upload context.

Make the supported correction
Correct the supported school/LEA relationship or coordinate the appropriate CALPADS organizational-access correction.

Regenerate and reconcile
Confirm acceptance, review Reports 4.4 and 4.5, reconcile CRSE dependencies, and audit other staff produced by the same mapping.
