Why this matters

Fall 2 course-section reporting follows its eligible-school population. A preschool CDS may result from a school-selection error, a shared-campus mapping, or a district-level program using the wrong delivery organization.

Follow the reporting chain from the top

Instructional reality and course catalog → SIS master schedule → SDEM identity → SASS assignment → CRSE section → SCSE membership → Reports 3.7 and 4.3

Preserve the rejected row and a correctly accepted comparison. Determine whether the defect originated in catalog data, scheduling, organization mapping, staff identity, file structure, or upload context.

Recommended correction path

1. 1

   Freeze the evidence

   Capture submission ID, physical row, School, Academic Year, Term, Local Course ID, Course Section ID, Class ID, masked SEID, and the named fields.

   Match the authoritative section

   Compare the master schedule, course catalog, teacher assignment, delivery school, and accepted SDEM/SASS prerequisites.

   Test the exact rule

   • Resolve the CDS code and official school type.
   • Confirm where instruction was delivered and which organization owns the section.
   • Distinguish shared campus, program location, and reportable school.
   • Verify whether the section belongs in Fall 2 CRSE at all.

   Find the first divergence

   Inspect SIS configuration, course crosswalks, joins, delimiters, Version 18 export behavior, and CALPADS organizational context.

   Make the supported correction

   Use the supported eligible delivery school/LEA context or remove a section outside the CRSE reporting population.

   Resubmit and reconcile

   Confirm GERR0010 clears, review Report 3.7 Course Section Enrollment and Report 4.3 Staff Teaching Assignments, and audit other sections produced by the same rule.
