CALPADS CRSE correction guide - Fatal data discrepancy
CRSE0130: Missing Course Section Record for Multiple Teacher Code
If Multiple Teacher Code is populated for a CRSE record with a valid educator SEID, CALPADS expects at least one other course-section record for the same class context, a different SEID, and a populated Multiple Teacher Code.

Recommended correction path
- 1
Preserve the rejected class records
Capture the submission ID, row numbers, school, academic year, term, local course, Course Section ID, Class ID, SEIDs, and Multiple Teacher Codes before editing.
- 2
Verify the instructional model
Ask the site administrator, master scheduler, department lead, and teachers whether two educators share responsibility for the same class or provide separate services.
- 3
Clear both SDEM prerequisites
Confirm that every intended teacher has the correct accepted SDEM identity, SEID, Reporting LEA, and employment coverage.
- 4
Clear both SASS prerequisites
For 2026-27, confirm a supported Code 13 instructional assignment at the applicable school for each teacher. Do not rely on retired job-classification mappings.
- 5
Compare the CRSE pair
Place the records side by side. Match school, academic year, academic term, and Class ID; confirm that the SEIDs differ and the Multiple Teacher Code is populated consistently.
- 6
Separate co-teaching from pull-out/push-in instruction
If a specialist teaches a separate course or intervention, report the applicable course and use the new 9.37 or 9.38 indicator as supported. Do not force that service into the general-education class as a co-teacher relationship.
- 7
Correct the authoritative schedule or mapping
Repair the master schedule, HR/SIS staff connection, local Class ID logic, or Version 18.0 extract rule so the next file reproduces the supported relationship.
- 8
Reprocess and walk downstream
Confirm CRSE acceptance, inspect SCSE connections, and review Reports 3.7 and 4.3. If EL services are reported, verify that the service attributes agree across the multiple-teacher records.
Why CRSE complexity grows quickly
The same dependency chain appears at every school, but departmentalized schedules, multiple teachers, specialized services, and student schedules multiply the number of related records.
Golden State Elementary
A self-contained elementary model creates a short, easy-to-see reporting chain.
SDEM12 records
One administrator, ten teachers, and one counselor.
SASS12 records
One assignment record for each staff member in this baseline scenario.
CRSE10 records
Ten self-contained teachers each connect to one course section.
SCSE300 records
Three hundred students each connect to one reported section.
Illustrative scenario: These counts explain record relationships and are not a rule for every school.
Sierra Vista Middle School
A departmentalized middle school adds multiple assignments, periods, and student-section connections.
SDEM48 records
Administrators, counselors, teachers, and instructional support staff.
SASS52 records
Several employees serve in more than one school or job classification.
CRSE210 records
Departmentalized teachers connect to multiple periods and course sections.
SCSE4,800 records
Eight hundred students averaging six reported sections each.
Illustrative scenario: These counts explain record relationships and are not a rule for every school.
Pacific Crest High School
A comprehensive high school multiplies courses, terms, teachers, sections, and student schedules.
SDEM125 records
Teachers, administrators, counselors, and other reportable staff.
SASS126 records
One administrator also teaches, producing an additional classification record.
CRSE551 records
A broad master schedule includes core, elective, CTE, AP, and support sections.
SCSE16,200 records
Student schedules expand the section structure into thousands of enrollments.
Illustrative scenario: These counts explain record relationships and are not a rule for every school.
2026-27 Fall 2 calendar
Before closing the correction
- Verify accepted SDEM and SASS records for every teacher in the class relationship.
- Confirm that the Class ID represents one real class and is unique within the school and academic year.
- Confirm that all related teacher records use distinct SEIDs and a consistent Multiple Teacher Code.
- Review Report 3.7 Course Section Enrollment and Report 4.3 Staff Teaching Assignments.
- Check other classes created by the same master-schedule or extract configuration.
