Recommended correction path

  1. 1

    Preserve the failed cohort record

Save PSTS year, SSID, Reporting LEA, participation type, status, and the CALPADS search for SWDS, legacy SPED, and applicable historical SPRG.

  2. 2

    Confirm former-student identity

Reconcile SSID and local identifiers across the outreach system, prior enrollment, and special-education history.

  3. 3

    Verify cohort eligibility

Have transition staff confirm the student’s qualifying special-education participation during the relevant exit/completion period.

  4. 4

    Locate the authoritative special-education evidence

Review effective-dated SWDS, qualifying legacy SPED, or applicable historical program evidence as permitted by the Version 18 rule.

  5. 5

    Correct the supported side

Repair a missing or mis-keyed qualifying record only from authoritative history; otherwise correct or remove the unsupported PSTS participation type/record.

  6. 6

    Reprocess the cohort

Confirm every Type 30 PSTS row joins to qualifying evidence and the approved former-student roster.

Before closing the correction

  • The student belongs in the postsecondary cohort.
  • Participation Type 30 has qualifying evidence.
  • Legacy and current records are not duplicated.
  • PSTS and the approved cohort reconcile.
