Google Sites is a general-purpose website builder included with Google Workspace that districts can use to create simple public websites, department pages, staff resources, project sites, and internal portals. Its main data relationship is between source files, their sharing permissions, and the published page. Staff maintain that connection when creating department resources or school-facing information.

- Sharing permissions must be tested so public visitors can reach intended resources without exposing restricted material.
Operational tradeoffs
- Offers a low-cost path to a public presence but lacks many districtwide CMS workflows, mass communication features, and specialized support services.
- Districts need explicit ownership, accessibility, domain, backup, retention, and account-transition procedures.
