Microsoft Office 365 Education provides cloud productivity and collaboration tools for eligible institutions, including Office applications and related communication and storage services according to plan. Microsoft 365 Education builds on Office 365 with additional device, identity, and security capabilities, depending on the license. Students, teachers, and staff share materials and collaborate through school-managed accounts.
District-managed identities connect email, files, calendars, and collaboration across schools. Technology staff and information owners coordinate access, sharing, and account transitions for a broad body of daily work. Shared files can outlast the accounts of their original creators. Content ownership and group membership determine what colleagues, classes, and departments continue to use when people move on.
Because everyday district work depends on these services, access and information lifecycle decisions require coordination. HR and student-data changes inform account administration; content owners decide how shared material should remain available. District leaders and technical teams also coordinate changes to licensing, sharing, and retention settings according to the actual services and policies in use.
