Overview

Overview

Unitrends provides backup, disaster-recovery, and business-continuity systems for physical, virtual, cloud, and application workloads. Districts use its appliances, backup software, cloud storage, recovery services, and monitoring to protect servers and data and to restore operations after deletion, hardware failure, outage, or ransomware.

Recovery depends on knowing which workloads were protected and when. Technology teams and service owners coordinate recovery priorities, restore testing, and the dependencies required to bring district operations back online. Copies must retain the identity, time, and application context needed for recovery. The availability of a recovery point and the readiness of a service are different operating questions.

Recovery decisions involve both technical order and district priorities. Technology and departmental leaders coordinate acceptable data gaps, service dependencies, authorized access, and restore testing. Understanding the platform means knowing what is protected, which recovery points are usable, and how restored systems will be reconciled with services that continued to change during the disruption.
