Tableau is a general-purpose business intelligence and data-visualization platform from Salesforce. District analysts can connect databases, cloud services, files, and prepared data warehouses; build interactive reports and dashboards; and publish governed views for administrators, departments, schools, or public audiences.
A visualization depends on the model and refresh process behind it. Analysts define measures and reporting populations while departments confirm that dashboards represent the underlying business or student records correctly. A dashboard can summarize many systems while inheriting their limitations. Documented definitions and refresh timing help viewers understand what a displayed measure represents.
