SASS0120 · Missing nonclassroom assignment
CALPADS rejects a staff assignment when class 10, 11 or 14 is reported without a qualifying nonclassroom or support duty on that record.
Check the rejected staff assignment
- Match the SEID, school, academic year and job classification in field 8.13 to the employee’s assignment for the reporting period.
- Inspect all seven fields from 8.15 through 8.21 on that SASS row. Confirm which duty the employee actually performed with HR or the department responsible for the assignment.
- Enter the valid nonclassroom assignment code for that duty in the appropriate slot. Code 6018 is reserved for employee leave and cannot satisfy this requirement. If the job classification was miscoded, correct it to the documented classification.
- Regenerate the SASS extract. Check the classification and assignment codes together and verify that the corrected record passes SASS0120.
For example, if a class 14 teacher performs a documented non-instructional assignment and all seven fields are blank, correct the assignment mapping in the source system and inspect the regenerated row before submitting it.
