What this error actually means

This is a representation error. CALPADS evaluates the literal file value, not the familiar date shown in HR or SIS. After format is repaired, identity and chronological accuracy still matter.

   Preserve the rejected row

   Capture submission ID, row, Reporting LEA, School, Academic Year, masked SEID, Job Classification, FTE, and assignment-code positions.

   Confirm identity and organization

   Match accepted SDEM history, authorized HR evidence, official organization codes, and the actual assignment before editing.

   Test the exact rule

   • Inspect 8.11 in the raw SASS row.
   • Verify the staff identity and authorized birth-date evidence.
   • Prevent spreadsheet locale conversion and timestamps.
   • Check whether SDEM and SASS describe the same educator.

   Find the first divergence

   Trace HR, position control, SIS scheduling, code crosswalks, joins, spreadsheet handling, file generation, and upload context.

   Make the supported correction

   Format the verified birth date as CCYYMMDD through the source/export; do not change the underlying date merely to pass formatting.

   Regenerate and reconcile

   Confirm acceptance, review Reports 4.4 and 4.5, reconcile CRSE dependencies, and audit other staff produced by the same mapping.
