SDLA Flowchart: debug the hierarchy from the top
One person does not always mean one assignment record
Illustrative principle: a principal who also teaches may require more than one SASS job classification. Do not create duplicate SASS rows with the same primary-key combination.
Recommended correction path
- 1
Preserve the rejected row
Capture the submission ID, row number, export time, and exact SASS row before editing.
- 2
Clear the prerequisite identity check
Confirm that the row belongs to an accepted SDEM identity under the same Reporting LEA and SEID.
- 3
Locate the structural defect
Compare the complete 21-field SASS layout, field lengths, data types, date formats, delimiters, and column count with the current specifications.
- 4
Trace the export path
Determine whether HR, the SIS, an integration, or a report definition transformed the value or shifted the columns.
- 5
Correct the repeatable source
Repair the source value, mapping, or export definition rather than hand-editing only one upload row.
- 6
Regenerate and regression-check
Upload a scoped file, confirm SASS acceptance, and inspect other rows created by the same export rule.
2026–27 Fall 2 working calendar
Verify the official CDE reporting calendar before acting because dates can change.
Before closing the correction
- Confirm the accepted SDEM identity and employment history under the intended Reporting LEA and SEID.
- Confirm the accepted SASS record under the intended academic year, school, and job classification.
- Reconcile applicable CRSE records and Fall 2 staff reports after the upstream correction.
- Check other staff records created by the same HR, SIS, integration, or extract rule.
