Transactional acceptance is not the same as certification coherence. The snapshot is testing whether related records, effective dates and populations form one defensible Fall 2 account.

QuestionAnswerSafeguard
What did the snapshot expect?A primarily enrolled student has no SCSE participation in the snapshot. Review the complete population
Where is the authoritative evidence?SIS enrollment, master schedule, student schedule and section statusProtect confidential records
What correction is supported?Find the missing or mismatched schedule, or correct stale enrollment/scheduling records without inventing course participationNever add data merely to clear the error

Five distinct causes to test

PossibilityEvidenceSupported response
Genuinely missing scheduleStudent attended a real sectionAdd/correct SCSE from the SIS
Wrong student, school, term or yearShared keys do not matchCorrect the faulty schedule relationship
Entry or exit near Census DayEnrollment and attendance dates differCorrect only the inaccurate dated record
Cancelled or never-taught lost sectionStudents were preassigned but the section remained on the booksRemove stale CRSE/SCSE preassignments
Wrong short-term status or durationActual enrollment history differs from code/datesCorrect supported SENR status or dates

Never rewrite accurate enrollment dates solely to make an unsupported schedule pass.

Recommended correction path

  1. 1

    Preserve the current snapshot

Capture revision, school, year, identifiers, counts and relevant detail rows.

  2. 2

    Classify the discrepancy

Separate a true zero or legitimate exception from a missing, stale, duplicated, mis-keyed or out-of-period record.

  3. 3

    Trace all companion records

Compare shared identifiers, effective dates, Census Day status and the complete history—not only the last upload.

  4. 4

    Verify authoritative evidence

Use sis enrollment, master schedule, student schedule and section status. Record what was checked and who confirmed it.

  5. 5

    Apply only the supported correction

Find the missing or mismatched schedule, or correct stale enrollment/scheduling records without inventing course participation. Repair repeatable source mappings where applicable.

  6. 6

    Regenerate and reconcile

Wait for processing, rebuild the Fall 2 snapshot, confirm the error clears, and compare downstream counts and detail reports.

Retained official CALPADS guidance

Assess the student's enrollment and Enrollment Status on Census Day. If the student 's enrollment and status are incorrect, correct the enrollment status in CALPADS. If the student's enrollment and status are correct, determine if course section records were submitted for the student with an incorrect SSID. (Check to see if SCSE0681F2 error has occurred and determine if the course section record generating it belongs to this student.) If no course section records were submitted for this student, submit the student course section records for the student. If applicable, check that the SPED records for the student have been uploaded for the reporting LEA. See Report 3.8 - Course Section Enrollment - Student List or look up the student's course enrollment for this academic year in online maintenance. CDD will only trigger where there is no SCSE record from the enrolled school in the current Academic Year.
