Never invent, pad, or replace an SSID from memory. Reconcile it against CALPADS and the student’s identity records. If two SSIDs appear to belong to one student, stop and follow the SSID reconciliation process.

Recommended correction path

    Preserve the rejected value

    Check for nine digits, scientific notation, decimals, spaces, or a lost leading zero.

    Confirm the student

    Match name, birth date, enrollment history, and the CALPADS SSID—not just one local identifier.

  3. 3

    Verify upstream SENR ownership

    The correct SSID must also have the enrollment relationship required for the LEA to submit the service.

    Correct the source system

    Update the authoritative crosswalk and export identifiers as text.

  5. 5

    Resubmit and check linked records

    Confirm the service attaches to the intended student and PLAN.
