STAS - Student Attendance

STAS errors concern summarized attendance and absence information reported for students. They may identify invalid instructional-day totals, inconsistent attendance counts, missing expected records, or values that conflict with enrollment dates. Compare CALPADS data with the local attendance system and verify that totals cover only the student’s eligible enrollment period.

FRMT0001 Wrong field length

Field length does not match CALPADS File Specifications (CFS)

FRMT0004 Invalid characters for numeric field

Data for a numeric field must be a number or a decimal point.

FRMT0008 Field must be whole integer, up to max field length

Field must be whole integer, up to max field length.

FRMT0009 Invalid column count for file type

Format for invalid column (fields) count based on file type

FRMT0010 Invalid Negative Number for Numeric Field

Data for a numeric field must not be a negative value.

GERR0001 Required Field Missing

A required field for the submitted Records Type is missing

GERR0005 - STAS LEA does not have ownership of student enrollment to make the update

The student’s STAS Academic Year does not align with the LEA's enrollment.

IVR0001 Invalid Submitter

The Reporting LEA of the submitter must equal the Reporting LEA in the record, or the Reporting SELPA of the submitter must have a relationship with the Reporting LEA in the record.

IVR0002 Invalid Reporting School

School must be a valid code in CDS and have an active CALPADS reporting relationship with the Reporting LEA

IVR0006 Invalid Academic Year

Academic Year ID must be a valid academic school year combination and no more than one year in the future

IVR0007 Invalid SSID

SSID must be a valid CALPADS SSID in the ODS

IVR0116 Duplicates within File based on Primary Key

Two or more records exist with the same primary key fields.

STAS0303 Invalid Absence Summary Information when Exemption is not Indicated

STAS0304 Invalid Absence Summary Information when Exemption is Indicated

STAS0305 Invalid Expected Attendance Days

When populated, Expected Attendance Days must be between 1 and 255 days, inclusive

STAS0306 Invalid Days Attended In-Person

When populated, Days Attended In-Person must be less than or equal to Expected Attendance Days less Days in Attendance In-School Suspension (May be 0)

STAS0307 Invalid Out-of-School Suspension days absent

When populated, Days Absent Out-of-School Suspension must be less than or equal to Expected Attendance Days Less Days Attended In-Person and Days in Attendance In-School Suspension (May be 0)

STAS0308 Invalid In-School Suspension days attended

When populated, Days in Attendance In-School Suspension must be less than or equal to Expected Attendance Days less Days Attended In-Person (May be 0)

STAS0309 Invalid Excused Non-Suspension days absent

When populated, Days Absent In-Person Excused Non-Suspension must be less than or equal to Expected Attendance Days Less Days Attended In-Person and Days in Attendance In-School Suspension (May be 0)

STAS0310 Invalid Unexcused Non-Suspension days absent

When populated, Days Absent In-Person Unexcused Non-Suspension must be less than or equal to Expected Attendance Days Less Days Attended In-Person and Days in Attendance In-School Suspension (May be 0)

STAS0311 Invalid Non-ADA Generating Independent Study Days

When populated, Non-ADA Generating Independent Study Days must be less than or equal to Expected Attendance Days Less Days Attended In-Person and Days in Attendance In-School Suspension (May be 0)

STAS0318 Invalid Total Absences and Days Attended

When populated, the total days for all absences and days attended must equal the Expected Attendance Days

STAS0588 Invalid ADA-Generating Independent Study Days

When populated, ADA-Generating Independent Study Days must be less than or equal to Expected Attendance Days Less Days Attended and Days in Attendance In-School Suspension (May be 0)

STAS0651 Invalid STAS data submitted for NPS or PSG

STAS data should not be submitted if School of Attendance = 0000001 (non-public school-NPS) or 0000002 (Private School Group)

STAS0739 Attendance Recovery Days must be an integer between 0 and 10, inclusive.

When populated, Attendance Recovery Days must be an integer between 0 and 10, inclusive.

STAS0741 Attendance Recovery Days must be less than or equal to qualifying days absent within the school

When populated, Attendance Recovery Days must be less than or equal to the sum of qualifying absences within the school.
