Basic resolution
- 1
Locate the rejected row
Save the submission ID and rejected SIRS row, then identify the exact field or column named by the error.
- 2
Compare the current specification
Check the 17-field SIRS layout, required data type, maximum length, permitted characters, and decimal format in the current CALPADS File Specifications.
- 3
Correct the source or extract
Fix the value in the authoritative discipline record or repair the extract mapping. Avoid a one-time file edit that the next export will recreate.
- 4
Regenerate and verify
Create a small corrected extract, upload it, and confirm that other SIRS rows produced by the same rule remain valid.
Before closing the correction
- Confirm the accepted SIRS record under the intended student and Incident ID Local.
- Reconcile the related SINC parent and any applicable SOFF records.
- Check whether the same source value or mapping affected other incidents.
