The submitted SSID must exist in CALPADS and belong to the intended student.

Match the student without guessing
Compare local ID, legal name, birth date, gender code, school, and enrollment history before changing the SSID.

Search CALPADS Student Details
Determine whether the SSID is mistyped, retired/not converted, associated with another student, or absent because SSID acquisition is incomplete.

Coordinate identity ownership
Work with enrollment/registrar staff and the CALPADS coordinator; include the CTE lead so the correct pathway record remains tied to the correct student.

Correct the authoritative identity record
Acquire or confirm the proper SSID through approved CALPADS procedures, update the SIS, and correct dependent extracts. Do not create a duplicate identity.

Verify downstream alignment
Post SCTE and confirm the student, enrollment, pathway, completion year, cohort, and later PSTS follow-up all refer to the same person.
