Recommended correction path

  1. 1

    Preserve the certification detail

Save the SSID, school, academic year, complete SENR history, and all source fields needed to evaluate primary enrollment, grade, TBD status, and elapsed days since the supported enrollment/status start.

  2. 2

    Confirm identity and enrollment

Verify SSID, Reporting LEA, enrollment status, grade, start/exit dates, and all prior enrollment history relevant to the rule.

  3. 3

    Review the complete SELA history

Examine every status and effective date, including prior-LEA data and TBD/EL/ADEL transitions.

  4. 4

    Verify the specific source fact

Have English learner staff establish primary enrollment, grade, TBD status, and elapsed days since the supported enrollment/status start from authorized assessment, enrollment, and program records.

  5. 5

    Calculate dates or age precisely

Use effective birth date and the exact event dates in the Version 18 rule; do not rely on year subtraction or a default date.

  6. 6

    Correct the authoritative system

Repair SENR, SELA, SINF, Initial US School Enrollment Date, grade, or mapping shown to be wrong.

  7. 7

    Reprocess and reconcile

Confirm enrollment and language-status histories remain chronological and reports agree.

Before closing the correction

  • The student, school, Reporting LEA, and academic year are correct.
  • Enrollment dates and status form a coherent chronology.
  • The related evidence for primary enrollment, grade, TBD status, and elapsed days since the supported enrollment/status start is authoritative and effective on the required date.
  • The source workflow is corrected and regenerated reports reconcile.
