Recommended correction path

  1. 1

    Preserve both-year detail

Save counts, percentages, school, reporting year, and report filters.

  2. 2

    Reconcile the graduate denominator

Confirm which students are graduates using enrollment, exit, completion, and transcript evidence.

  3. 3

    Reconcile the UC/CSU numerator

Have counseling or transcript staff verify completion of the required course sequence for each student counted or unexpectedly omitted.

  4. 4

    Trace source-to-CALPADS values

Review the supported graduate and UC/CSU completion fields, course history, and any SIS calculation or import rules.

  5. 5

    Assess comparability

Consider cohort size, grade span, school configuration, program changes, and prior-year corrections without assuming the variance is wrong.

  6. 6

    Document or repair

Retain an evidence-based explanation for a real change, or correct authoritative transcript/SIS data and regenerate the report.

Before closing the correction

  • The graduate denominator is correct.
  • Every UC/CSU completer is supported by transcript evidence.
  • Both years use comparable definitions and populations.
  • The change is corrected or documented as legitimate.
