PaperCut is a family of print-management products that helps districts control printing, copying, and scanning across shared printers and multifunction devices. It gives technology and business teams visibility into usage and cost while making printing available from district computers, Chromebooks, mobile devices, and other supported endpoints.
A print or scan transaction connects a user, device, destination, and cost. Technology and business teams use those records to manage shared equipment and understand patterns of resource use.

Print tracking and control
- Tracks print, copy, scan, and fax activity according to product and device capabilities.
- Applies quotas, account charging, rules, duplex or monochrome defaults, and other cost controls.
Secure print release
- Holds jobs until an authorized user releases them at a selected printer.
- Reduces abandoned output and exposure of student, employee, or business information.
Device and BYOD printing
- Supports printing from Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, mobile, and personally owned devices through available components.
- Deploys queues and drivers or provides driverless workflows depending on the product.
Scanning workflows
- Routes scans from supported multifunction devices to email and cloud-storage destinations.
- Can apply OCR and document-processing functions in eligible configurations.

- PaperCut MF supports deeply integrated multifunction-device management; Hive provides cloud-native print management.
