Lightspeed MDM

Overview

Overview

Lightspeed MDM is a cloud device-management platform designed for K–12 technology teams. It lets districts enroll and oversee supported Apple, Windows, Android, and ChromeOS devices, distribute applications and settings, and apply policies remotely across schools, grades, classrooms, and individual users.

A central device view depends on current enrollment and assignment information. School technicians and district administrators use it to distinguish a hardware problem from an account, policy, or application issue. Configuration and assignment are related but different records. Device administrators coordinate those sources with identity and inventory owners when school or user circumstances change.

Features

Features

  • Offers a self-service library where users can install applications approved for their group.

Policies and configurations

  • Applies restrictions and settings for Wi-Fi, cameras, operating-system updates, and other platform controls.
  • Supports scheduled policies and temporary configurations for testing, instruction, breaks, or single-app use.

  • Connects with Apple deployment and managed-distribution services for enrollment and application licensing.
