Avatier Identity Anywhere is a modular identity and access management platform for single sign-on, identity lifecycle automation, password management, access requests, group administration, and access governance. It can run in a customer cloud, on premises, or in an Avatier-hosted environment using a container-based architecture. District IT teams can align account access with staff roles and employment changes.
Employment and role information become permissions and access decisions. HR, application owners, and IT teams coordinate approval and lifecycle rules so account changes follow the intended organizational authority. An account, an application permission, and a class membership are different relationships. Their source, timing, and approval determine what a person can actually do after signing in.
A transfer, departure, or duplicate identity can affect several applications at once. District teams coordinate matching, authorization, update timing, and exceptions across the deployed connections. Sign-in, account creation, and roster sharing are related processes with different purposes; understanding each boundary helps explain why access may succeed in one service and fail in another.

Single sign-on

Lifecycle management
- Automates account creation, changes, access requests, approvals, and deprovisioning based on business rules and source attributes.
- Coordinates SSO access with provisioning so users receive and lose downstream accounts as their roles change.

- Supports password reset, synchronization, policy enforcement, and self-service group administration.
- Delegates approved tasks while retaining workflow and audit records.
Governance
- Runs access reviews and certification campaigns and lets reviewers approve, revoke, or grant exceptions for access.
- Provides reporting on identities, applications, approvals, entitlements, and lifecycle actions.
Integration framework
- Connects directories, cloud applications, enterprise systems, service platforms, APIs, and custom resources through Avatier's framework.
- Districts should validate SIS, HR, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID, and application-specific provisioning requirements during procurement.
