Students cannot see an assignment

Check visibility from the student's point of view before publishing another copy. A duplicate assignment can create confusion and split submissions between two locations.

• Confirm the assignment is published in the correct course and section.
• Verify that the availability dates include today and that the due date does not unintentionally hide access.
• Confirm any module publishing requirements, prerequisites, or sequence rules have been met.
• Check whether the assignment was assigned to all intended students, sections, or groups.
• Use student view to follow the same navigation path students are using.
• Check whether linked files, external tools, or prerequisite pages are also published and available.

After confirming the visibility settings, republish or correct the assignment once. Then ask one affected student to verify that it appears in the expected location.

Before changing access: make sure the adjustment will not expose answer keys, future assessments, or work assigned to another section.
