A Student or Assignment Is Missing in Boom Cards

Refresh the imported roster, confirm the student's account, and assign the deck inside Boom when reports or assignment-list access are required.

Teacher

A student is missing from my imported Boom classroom, cannot see the deck, or completed work is not appearing in reports.

Quick Fix

First, preserve the existing classroom. Do not create another Boom class or student while checking the roster. Duplicate records can split assignments and reports.

Follow these steps in order.

  1. Confirm the student in the source roster

Verify that the student has fully joined the correct Google Classroom, Clever, ClassLink, or other authoritative class and is using a student account rather than a teacher account.

  2. Refresh the existing import once

Use the classroom's approved import or Add/Re-Import Students control once, then record the time and result. Do not delete the imported classroom or repeatedly import it.

  3. Confirm the student's signed-in identity

Have the student use the same school sign-in method used to import the class. Compare the visible account with the class roster and sign out of unrelated personal accounts.

  4. Assign the deck inside Boom

If the deck must appear in Assignments or generate standard reports, assign it to the classroom or student inside Boom. A Fast Pin is login-free practice, while a HyperPlay link requires sign-in; Boom notes that HyperPlay reporting also depends on the deck being assigned.

  5. Escalate a persistent mismatch

If the source roster, Boom classroom, student identity, and assignment are correct but access or reports remain missing, ask the local integration administrator or Boom Learning support to review the records.

Copy-and-paste message for integration support

Boom classroom [class name] was imported from [Google/Clever/ClassLink/other]. [Student] is present in the source roster but [is missing from Boom/cannot see assignment/has no report]. We ran the approved roster refresh once at [time], confirmed the student's school identity, and assigned deck [deck title] inside Boom using [assignment method]. Please review roster matching, the student's Boom record, and the assignment/report association.

Stop and escalate when

A student appears twice, completed work is attached to another identity, an imported roster remains incomplete after one refresh, or deleting a class would risk historical reports. Preserve the existing records.
