SDLA Quick Fix · Flocabulary

A Student Cannot Join or Sign In to Flocabulary

Use the class-entry method chosen by the district, confirm the student's existing account, and avoid creating duplicate Flocabulary identities.

Teacher

A student cannot join my Flocabulary class, sees the wrong class, or keeps returning to a sign-in screen.

Quick Fix

First, identify the expected entry method. Determine whether this class uses a Flocabulary class code, Google sign-in, Microsoft sign-in, ClassLink, or another district-managed launch. Do not mix methods while troubleshooting.

Follow these steps in order.

  1. Confirm the correct class

Open the teacher's class list and verify the class name, teacher, and current class code or roster source. Do not rely on an older code copied from a previous term.

  2. Use the assigned launch path

For a teacher-created class-code class, use Flocabulary's Join a Class page (opens in a new tab). For a district-rostered or SSO class, start from the district portal or approved school sign-in instead.

  3. Use the student's existing school account

Sign out of personal Google or Microsoft accounts and retry with the student's school identity. A student who already has a Flocabulary account should use that account rather than creating another one.

  4. Compare one working student

Compare the launch path, class name, school email domain, and visible account name with a classmate who can enter. Do not display passwords or private student information during the comparison.

  5. Escalate identity or roster mismatches

If the correct school account still opens the wrong class, shows no assignment, or loops through sign-in, ask the local Flocabulary administrator to review the student's account and class membership.

Copy-and-paste message for local support

[Student] cannot enter Flocabulary class [class name] using our expected [class code/Google/Microsoft/ClassLink/LMS] method. The student used the school account [school email or local identifier] and saw [exact message or wrong destination] at [time]. A working student used [launch path]. Please review the affected student's Flocabulary identity, license access, and class membership. No additional account was created.

Stop and escalate when

The student is prompted to create a second account, a personal account appears instead of the school account, or the correct school identity opens the wrong class. Account merging and roster correction require authorized support.
