Points I Awarded Are Not Showing in 5-Star Students

Allow time for point totals to update, then ask a site manager to refresh the totals if the points still do not appear.

I awarded points to a student in 5-Star Students, but the student's point total has not changed. Did the points disappear?

Quick Fix

First, allow for an update delay. According to 5-Star Students, current point totals can take up to 10 minutes to appear. A delay does not necessarily mean that the points were lost.

Follow these steps in order.

  1. Note what you awarded

Record the student's name, the behavior or event connected to the points, the number of points, and approximately when you awarded them. Do not award the same points again while the total is still updating.

  2. Wait up to 10 minutes

5-Star Students processes point totals in the background. Allow the full update period before treating the missing total as an error.

  3. Refresh and check the total again

After 10 minutes, refresh the page or reopen the student view and check the current point total. If the points now appear, no additional action is needed.

  4. Ask a site manager to force the rollup

If the total still has not changed, ask a 5-Star Students site manager to open Current Data Status and force the rollup. This refreshes the calculated totals.

Copy-and-paste message for your site manager

Points awarded to [student] at approximately [time] for [behavior or event] are still not reflected in the student's total after 10 minutes. Would you please check Current Data Status and force the point rollup? I have not awarded the points a second time.

If the points still do not appear

Ask the site manager or your local support team to investigate. Provide the student, behavior or event, point value, approximate time, and the method you used to award the points. Share student information only through an approved support channel.
