Include and Evaluate LREBG-Funded LCAP Actions
Connect each applicable LREBG investment to the LCAP’s funded actions, needs-assessment rationale, research support, impact metrics and annual implementation analysis.
In Plain Language: Connect each applicable LREBG investment to the LCAP’s funded actions, needs-assessment rationale, research support, impact metrics and annual implementation analysis.
Why this matters
A restricted-resource balance can be accurate in the ledger while the adopted plan omits the action, rationale or measure required to explain its use.
Primary ownership
LCAP lead, action owners and fiscal services
Required distinctions and controls
- Identify planned LREBG expenditure in associated LCAP actions, include impact metrics, and connect the choice to the needs assessment and research support.
- For the 2027–28 LCAP/annual update, CDE calls for reviewing the rationale for selected strategies and whether progress warrants adjustments.
- Use the applicable district, COE or charter LCAP process. County review of a district LCAP is state-required oversight; it does not establish a separate universal LREBG plan filing.
Recommended LEA workflow
- Confirm applicable funding and the completed needs-assessment prerequisite.
- Crosswalk each funded action to its eligible purpose, population, cost and evidence base.
- Assign metrics and data owners and check that the adopted plan and fiscal coding agree.
- Monitor implementation and spending and retain the available outcome evidence.
- Complete annual analysis and the 2027–28 strategy review through the applicable LCAP process.
