Adopt and Attach the LCFF Budget Overview for Parents

In Plain Language: Complete the Budget Overview for Parents using reconciled fiscal data, adopt it with the LCAP, and keep it attached to the public and submitted LCAP package.
Why this matters
The overview is the public bridge between the plan’s promises and the LEA’s total budget. Inconsistent figures erode trust and can interrupt county review.
Primary ownership
Primary owner: business services with the LCAP lead. Partners: superintendent’s office, federal/state program fiscal staff, governing-board office, communications, and county-review contacts.
Operational workflow
- 1. Load the current Budget Overview template and final fiscal data.
- 2. Reconcile general-fund, LCFF, planned-action, and increased/improved-services figures.
- 3. Write plain-language explanations for material changes and variances.
- 4. Include the overview in the adoption package and board action.
- 5. Verify the adopted overview remains attached in submission and web posting.
