Microsoft Intune for Education is a cloud device and application management service for school-owned Windows and Apple devices. It provides a streamlined education portal for enrolling devices, applying settings, distributing applications, protecting district information, and checking whether devices comply with security requirements.
School-managed identities and device groups determine the policies applied to each endpoint. IT staff coordinate enrollment, assignments, and access so a device’s configuration matches its intended instructional use. Configuration and assignment are related but different records. Device administrators coordinate those sources with identity and inventory owners when school or user circumstances change.
